There are many causes of chronic back or neck pain. At times the pain is disabling and people will take all measures they know of to dull the pain, even if it's for a couple of days.

One of the most common causes of back pain is instability. This can be caused by different injuries (traumatic or not) resulting in poor spinal mechanics from limited spinal joint movement, alignment, or hypermobility. All of the above will cause inflamation which equals pain.

Although the medication mentioned may dull the symptoms for a while, it does not address the actual cause of the pain. So, if medication is the only approach you will have to take it for a very very long time which will result in internal problems that will make your back pain seem like a paper cut.

I'm very qualified to speak on back pain as I've been treating patients with it daily for years. One must work on improving the function of his/her back first. Medication second. Surgery Last. Thoughts?
